The Ait Bougmez Valley is also described as a "happy" valley. This name comes from the fertile soils and cultivated fields. It is located in the heart of the Central High Atlas Mountains at an altitude of 1900 m at the foot of Mount M'Goun (4068m). In the spring and summer you will find all kinds of birds from all over the world. Also dinosaur tracks were found there. In this wonderful valley, we offer tailor-made hikes.
Day 1: Marrakech - Azilal - Ait Bougmez (about 250km)
Departure by minibus towards Bougmez Valley (about 5 hours drive). Walk to the first villages in the Atlas Mountains. Lunch on the way. Arrival in the afternoon. Small hike through the fields of the valley. Arrival to our hostel in the village of Imelghas. There we eat dinner and sleep.
Day 2: Imelghas - Ait Imi - Aguerd -Sidi Moussa -Timite - Dinosaur tracks - Imelghas (about 5 hours walk)
After breakfast, we will head towards the grain store of Sidi Moussa. Visit the village of Timite. We crossed the fields to the village of Ait Imi. Lunch with locals. In the afternoon we continue towards Ibakliwin, where we see the dinosaur tracks. Back to the Guest house over the village of Tabant. Dinner and overnight at the Guest house.
Day 3: Imelghas - Idoukalene - Takhida - Agouti - Gorges of Arous - Tighza - Azilal - Marrakech
Breakfast at the hostel, departure by minibus towards Idoukalne village, start of our last hike over the village of Takhida. Then we reach the Tamzrite Plateau to the gorges of Arous. We walk through the ravines and eat lunch with locals or in a hostel. Return to Marrakech in the afternoon. Arrive late afternoon.
